What SereneGoods collects when you visit, get in touch, or work with us on a website, and how we look after it.

In short: we use privacy-first, cookie-free traffic statistics, no advertising trackers, and we don’t sell your information. We collect what you choose to send us, mainly through the enquiry form, and use it to reply and to deliver your project. Amazon links work under Amazon’s own privacy rules.
This Privacy Policy explains how SereneGoods (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit serenegoods.ca (the “Site”), contact us, or hire us to design and build a website.
SereneGoods is run by Sanjeev, a web designer and developer based in Durham Region, Ontario, Canada. We do two things:

Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address, the kind of website you need, and a message about your project. You may also email us directly. We use this only to reply to you and discuss your project.
During a website project we may receive business details, content, images, and, where needed, access to accounts such as your domain, hosting, or Google Business Profile. We use these only to deliver the work you asked for. When the project ends, we ask you to remove our access or change shared passwords, and we delete login details we no longer need.
Like every website, our hosting and security providers process limited technical data, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, so that pages can be delivered and protected against abuse.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregate statistics, such as how many people visit, which pages are popular, and which countries visitors come from. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t fingerprint your device, and doesn’t track you across other websites. We don’t use advertising or social media tracking.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The Site works without them.
SereneGoods participates in the Amazon Associates Program. Our Amazon finds pages contain affiliate links to products on Amazon.ca. When you click one, Amazon may place a cookie on your device so that we earn a commission on qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Purchases happen on Amazon’s website under Amazon’s Privacy Notice. We never see your payment details, and Amazon doesn’t tell us who you are.
We publish sample websites to show our work, such as Maplewell Pharmacy, a fictional pharmacy. Forms on demo websites don’t send or store anything. Please don’t enter real personal or health information into them.
We rely on these providers to run the Site. Each handles data under its own privacy policy:
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we won’t add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and project correspondence for the life of the project and any support afterwards. Business records such as invoices are kept as long as Canadian tax law requires, generally six years. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, unless we need to keep it by law.
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent to how we use it, subject to legal limits. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
When we build a website for a client, that client decides what information their site collects and is responsible for their own privacy policy. We handle any data on their site only as needed to build and support it, following their instructions.
The Site is served over HTTPS, and we limit access to your information to what’s needed for your project. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
The Site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
The Site links to Amazon, to client websites we’ve built, and to other sites. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies.
We’ll update this policy when our services or tools change, and revise the effective date above.
